CAMBODIA HOSTS 3RD Southeast Asia Video festival for Children

Cambodia has accepted the challenge to host the 2019 Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children. The Festival Director for the 3rd SEAVFC is Chhay Bora, a noted filmmaker in Cambodia.

The Philippines hosted another successful staging of the Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children.

Held in Manila on November 22-24, 2018, the event was well attended by representatives from the ten member-countries of Southeast Asia – Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Acclaimed film director Livi Zheng discussed “How to be a Successful Video Director” in her workshop at the 2nd Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children. Ms. Livi started her workshop by showcasing some of her short films and trailers to the Southeast Asian children.

Livi Zheng Shares How to be a Successful Video Director

Acclaimed film director Livi Zheng discussed “How to be a Successful Video Director” in her workshop at the 2nd Southeast Asia Video Festival for Children. Ms. Livi started her workshop by showcasing some of her short films and trailers to the Southeast Asian children. Among those played were trailers of her films Brush with Danger and Bali: Beats of Paradise.

She then proceeded by sharing her life experiences and on how those experiences molded her on who she is today. Also, she shared with the SEA children the struggles she faced in the film industry before becoming one of the acclaimed directors in the United States.

Ms. Livi Zheng also enthusiastically answered questions raised by the audience, stressing out a few reminders children need to remember if they want to pursue a career in the film industry. Punctuality, being committed and continuously passionate to what you do, and being kind to your staff are just some of the points she left the children. Besides the professional reminders she gave, she also shared some of her treasured life lessons to the children before the session ended.
